Autograph letter signed, dated : Berlin, 17 December 1843, to [Maria Hawes in London], 1843 Dec. 17.

Explaining that she should postpone her visit until the next musical season in Germany (which does not coincide with that in England), that directors of musical societies, subscriptions concerts, etc., have all engaged their musicians, suggesting she come to Germany the following October, saying she would be paid the same as Mrs. A. [i.e. Mary] Shaw, Clara Novello, and the other English singers, etc.
